I was in highschool until 2008. I would take notes quickly, come home and rewrite them a few times in specific colours until my notes like nice and tidy. By that point, I didn't need the noyes anymore. I would do this with a show or something in the background, and I would switch from rewriting to doing something fun and then back to rewriting. It worked very well. My averages throughout the year weren't great but would shoot up by 50% after my exams, leaving me with 75-85 or even higher sonetimes at the end of the year.

I did all this to get through college - in the late 80s/early 90s. Before I had my diagnosis. I just thought my short attention span was because I was blonde. Seriously.

I have my SPED students explain new objectives to each other after I have taught them. It’s amazing the way they understand and explain it to their peers. I also have them walk as they are studying spelling. Spelling also has a specific sound so that it is easier for them to remember. (A nursery rhyme rhythm.)

I come from the days when we hand wrote all of our lecture notes. I would rewrite them in different colours and chunk them on different parts of the page and in different directions. When I studied it was like looking at a map and identifying the information in each section.

Explaining tasks to my cat is sometimes the only way I will be able to get a task done. For example, Frank is an expert in laundry by now and his brother from another mother Beans knows the names of all of my plants and which ones are dry

Saving this...I'm 47 and white knuckled my way to As in school but damn if these ideas don't make my current life so much easier. I actually explain to my dog the list of tasks I need to do....so seeing the one about the dog made me laugh.
