Duane "Keefe D" Davis' lawyer Michael Sanft began his cross-exam of Suge Knight's former security boss on Tuesday by questioning him about his YouTube channel and his criticism of him. "I don't think it was anything derogatory. It's more like he's never tried a criminal case, or I think Hollywood ass attorney. I think you had said something like that, right?" asked Michael W. Sanft, a licensed lawyer in Nevada since 2002. "Well, yeah, did about 10 interviews in the last two months, so I may have said something like that," Reginald "Reggie" Wright Jr. answered. "At some point, you had actually instructed Keefe that hey, he can actually make money doing the YouTube stuff. Remember that?" Sanft asked. "It didn't go quite like that, but I did pass his number to a few YouTube channels after he and I had this discussion about doing something on my channel, but I refused to pay because I'm not giving someone I believe is Tupac killer money," Wright answered. Davis has repeatedly detailed his involvment in Tupac's murder, staying in interviews that he handed the gun to his now-deceased nephew, Orlando Anderson. Prosecutors in Clark County, Nevada, say Anderson shot Shakur after Shakur attacked him in the MGM Grand casino after the Mike Tyson - Bruce Seldon boxing match. They're seeking a murder conviction against 63-year-old Davis, who has been in jail since his arrest in September 2023. Sanft told jurors in his opening statement that Davis has repeatedly lied about his involvement in the murder, seeking fame and fortune. He questioned Wright about the money that can be made on YouTube to try to show jurors how lucrative Davis' lies could be. He asked about Wright telling a detective he earns $2,500 to $3,000 each YouTube show. "That's accurate, so I might have said that," Wright said. Sanft said Wright told the detective that Keefe "was crying about his taxes" so "I got him about to go blast them next week. He's getting $3,500," apparently referring to Davis' YouTube interviews. "They break them up into like five or 10 minute segments, and you can get a 15 second segments from me, and you get 200,000 people to view it, you can make $8,000 to $10,000 off of me, and you just gave me $2,500 to $3,000," Sanft quoted. "Do you remember saying that to Detective Mobbs?" "Those sound like accurate statements. I'm sure I did," Wright said. "And once again, it's clear to show that there's a business with YouTube, right?" Sanft asked. "That's correct, sir," Wright answered. #law #crime #court
