Adeoye 😎 :
I came across this video today, and honestly, it touched something deep inside me. 🥺❤️Maybe it hit me differently because this birthday has made me reflect deeply, not just on where I am, but on where I’m going, the man I’m becoming, and everything I still hope to accomplish.
Growing up, I never really understood how difficult it was to be a man, especially a father. As children, we often see our fathers as strong, unshaken, and capable of handling everything. We don't always see the worries behind their silence, the sacrifices behind their provisions, or the battles they fight quietly just to make sure their families are okay.
But the older I get, the more I understand my dad.
My dad may not have gotten everything right, but looking back now, I can genuinely say he did the best he could with what he had. He sacrificed in ways I probably didn't understand as a child, and there are so many things I appreciate today that I once took for granted.
The older I become, the more I realise that being a man isn't easy. Carrying responsibilities, providing, protecting, making difficult decisions, carrying expectations, and still finding the strength to keep moving even when you're tired, that's a different kind of strength.
And perhaps that's part of why this birthday hit me so differently.
I remember crying for hours and asking myself, “Where am I really going?” At that moment, everything felt blurry. My mind was heavy, and for the first time in a long while, I genuinely felt lost.
What made it even deeper was realizing that the moment I had always looked forward to is finally here.
By October 21st, I'll be sitting at my convocation, and I’ll no longer be able to call myself a student. I'll officially become a graduate. 🎓
For years, I imagined finishing school as the moment everything would finally begin to make sense. But now that I'm standing at the doorstep of that reality, I realise that graduation isn't the end of the journey. It’s the beginning of another chapter.
And honestly, that beginning scares me sometimes.
I'm proud and grateful for how far I've come, but I’d be lying if I said I’m not worried about what comes next. There’s a certain uncertain
