had a buddy who's only job was to watch and listen to a huge machine and to push a big red button if he heard a bad noise. lol. he asked what noise he was listening for and his boss just said "trust me you'll know when you hear it" went from 18 an hour to 36 after he heard it and pushed it in time lol.

Had a mate earning $150,000 a year to push the paper into the toilet roll if the machine didn't do it right. He got 2 degrees while working, but decided not to go into his fields cause he made more being a TP pusher.

I once had a job helping make the black irrigation pipe that is on farms and whatnot. My job wasn't to make the pipe. It was to watch the roller to ensure that it was rolling up straight. 12-hour shifts, two rolls a day, easiest job I've ever done.
