June 5, 2022 4 years ago, my then-husband isolated both of us in a desert for 7mo while he psychologically, sexually and physically abused me. He managed to brainwash me to extreme extents. He raped me daily. He recruited other men to do the same. He shot at me. He sleep deprived me. He denied me access to water. He beat me. He poured soap in my eyes. He held my head to a gas burning stove. He was deranged and pointed it all at me….. And he set up interview style videos like this one and recorded us. On this day, he demanded I write the lyrics to a song (Favourite Sound - Tyler Coolidge) he was playing on repeat and that I get at least 85% correct to prove my love for him. This is the context of this video. People ask why did I even do this….? I was abused and brainwashed and scared, really scared, and still trying to love a man I vowed to love. No one willingly ends up in situations like this.. but it happens. Immediately after this interview, he faked his own suicide for my reaction…and shot at me for the first time. I have audio/video of both. I have so much evidence that it’s overwhelming. And yet… Nye County sheriff department in Nevada will not work with me to pursue him criminally. I have flown out twice. I filed reports within the statute of limitations. They just don’t seem to care. He served a 30 day sentence for a felony charge of violating my protective order in San Antonio, TX and he is on probation for 7yrs. But generally… he walks free. I was silenced for a long time but I have always had the desire to share… and with the mountain of evidence I have because he decided to document his abuse… it’s kinda like… how could I not? I have finally been happily creating my dream life since the last of his criminal cases wrapped up in October. (Pending Nevada charges). I got the opportunity to share my story on a social media platform coming up this weekend and in my mental preparations for that, I decided to share here. I foresee this only being the beginning of me sharing very publicly. This was a horrific season of my life and I’m grateful to have survived and to get to share my story.
