Maybe because the baby wasn’t in immediate danger? The dog went after her dog, not the baby. Of course it makes sense to protect the one being attacked.

First of all that dog should've been on a leash or at least watch their dog I feel like some dogs off leash unsupervised is like leaving a kid unsupervised and mostly the dogs only concern was the other dog not the baby they should be glad the dog didn't go for the baby instead

it's not the border Collies fault it's the owner's fault of the border Collie for leaving it unleashed in the first place if I was that border collies owner that tried to attack the mother's baby I would probably put it on a leash instead of letting it lose not the bad way but when you walk it

she did the best she could and the baby was safe if it was strapped in the stroller and she stood in front of it ....so sounds to me like she saved the dog and baby

I understand she wanted to protect her dog, and maybe she saw her dog as family because she had it before the baby. I’m not saying the dog is less important than the baby at all. My problem is that she protected the dog while putting her baby in a potentially dangerous situation. Yes, maybe the dog was only after the other dog, like people are saying, but it still could’ve gotten scared or angry that the stroller was in the way and accidentally hurt the baby trying to get to the dog. That’s why I have a problem with it—not because she loves or protected her dog, but because of how she did it.

I'd say both on they are both to blame. mother should be worry about the damn child first and shouldn't be worry about the dog cuz the dog can protect itself the child can't. and owner of the dog should have kept his dog on the leash all times when it comes to going for a walks
