Sandra “Sandy” Bradshaw was 38 years old and working as a flight attendant on United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, 2001. After the hijacking began, she contacted United Airlines and reported what was happening on board. Later, she called her husband, Phil, a commercial pilot, and explained that the passengers and crew were preparing to fight back. In the rear galley, flight attendants heated water, preparing to use it against the hijackers as passengers moved toward the front of the plane. The people on Flight 93 had learned about the attacks already carried out that morning. They understood their aircraft could also be used as a weapon. Sandy knew what that meant. She told Phil that everyone was getting ready to move forward. Then she said goodbye. At approximately 9:57 a.m., the passengers and crew launched their revolt. Minutes later, Flight 93 crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Sandy Bradshaw never made it home. But in her final minutes, she did not simply wait for what might happen. She helped prepare to fight back, knowing the people on that plane had chosen to resist. And then, with the others, she moved toward the front. Story based on historical records. It’s sad that everyone has forgotten how we all united together that day. With the division happening these days these people need to be the reminder of who we are as a nation. It’s hard to believe we are going on 25 years. God bless those who died that day, and God bless their families
