Everyone is a tic toc lawyer. Name and badge number will be on your ticket. The law doesn’t say when it has to be provided or how. In my state not providing proof of insurance is a misdemeanor, and an arrest-able offense.

As a cop I’d argue his protective sweep was unconstitutional. Yes I know the case law that allows for officers to conduct a search for weapons in the passenger compartment which is going to be Michigan V Long. You have to have articulable facts as to why you believe the subject is dangerous and can access a weapon. In this case I’d say the officer does not. Nothing in the video depicted the subject being dangerous nor any furtive movements or anything of that manner
