An airplane is a closed environment and the air is recirculating. You cannot force other passengers to smell your food. Especially as they have no escape. Be considerate. I love Indian food however some dishes have a strong smell.

Any food that has a strong smell should not be allowed on the plane. Why not eat before the flight and then stick to fruits & salads on the flight if you are starving!
