I am in recovery. The fact that she brought the glass instead of concealing it, then she’s driving, and she’s around other parents and children…. She needs to lose her children. Because if she can’t hold it together for three hours, she’s getting traumatically drunk at home.

We listen and we don’t judge— a lot of us have done it. We’re all trying our best I think.

as a child of an alcoholic parent, this is alcoholism. I remember my coach having to drive me home multiple times and making up excuses to keep me longer cuz my mom was drunk.

This is not just "recreational" drinking. She doesn't just drink at sport practices... ocassionaly. My friends step mom, who was drunk on a daily basis looked the exact same: puffy faced, sunken eyes, not to mention the same mentality that alcohol is acceptable and enhances any and all events. She's currently battleling liver failure.

I used to do this. I was/am absolutely an alcoholic. Haven’t drank in 9 years.

What does she mean "what else am I supposed to do"? She has a book, she could learn her sons sport and interest, she could bring puzzles, small crafts, so many options available. Her bringing some wine isn't a big issue to me personally, but bringing it knowing shes going to drive is bad. If you can't drink responsibly, you shouldn't drink. Drinking knowing you're the driver is a problem. 🫤 She could put people in danger, including her own child thats in the car with her, while teaching him that the behavior is acceptable.

Alcohol literally takes you on a road to hell you can’t get off of until YOU personally find serious help. Naltrexone saved my life 🙏

she doesn't have to go to sports practices and most coaches prefer and tell parents not to be here. also, drinking while on MH meds is not safe. get some snacks, blankets and get comfy in your car and watch some shows or scroll in your car

The thought process on this is weird bc I’m not interested in any sport outside of nascar but my brother plays baseball (which I don’t understand) and if I got the chance to watch him practice my eyes would be glued. I want in on whatever my loved ones love so why wouldn’t she want to learn if her child loves it?
