@justtheoneleg: Stairs can be particularly challenging for an amputee, and years of constant pain from a poorly fitting socket made them even harder for me. Now that I have a new leg and no longer walk in pain, I’m having to retrain my brain and body to climb stairs properly. For so long, I adapted the way I moved to avoid pain, and those habits became automatic. It’s going to take time, practice, and patience, but I’m learning to walk and climb stairs the right way again, has now started.
