@highballco: Sylvester Stallone is 80 years old and still cool af, which almost nobody from his era can say. He was born in New York with nerve damage from a difficult birth that left part of his face paralysed. It's the exact thing casting directors later told him would end his career. He was broke in the seventies. Genuinely broke. Slept in a bus terminal for a few weeks and sold his dog because he couldn't feed it. Then he watched an Ali fight, went home and wrote Rocky in about three days. Studios offered him serious money for that script, more than he'd ever seen, on one condition. Someone else plays Rocky. He turned it down and kept turning it down until they let him do it for almost nothing. It won Best Picture in 1977 and he was nominated for acting and writing on the same film. Only a few people in history have done that. Then Rambo, Cliffhanger, Cop Land, Demolition Man, Creed, Tulsa King and many more. He wrote or directed a huge amount of it himself, which people forget. He also bought his dog back. He's dressed like about six different men along the way. Rocky's flat cap and grey sweats were meant to look cheap and became one of the most copied outfits in film history. The eighties went enormous: cut-off sleeves, headbands, a plain green vest that men went out and bought. The nineties were rough on everyone and he committed harder than most. Then somewhere around the Expendables, he started dressing sharper. Suits that fit, navy and charcoal, calmed right down. He looks insane for 80, some say better than he did at 50.
