My son did this in kindergarten. I took him straight to a therapist, then immediately back to the school and had him spit shine that classroom and make it look brand new. That was a big turning point for his behavior. We were there til 7pm. Had the janitor give us the keys to lock up when we left. We scrubbed floors, cleaned other kids’ pencil off of desks, Clorox wipes the whole room, vacuumed carpet…. The works. He has never done anything like this since. Some kids need a little help, some parents need a little help, but there’s still plenty of room in their lives and diagnosis for accountability.

I imagine he doesn't do this at home because he is in charge at home and does whatever he wants to. So when the teacher has rules and tells him no, he loses his shit. I've taught for 30 years. I know some things.

You won’t ever convince me that this isn’t happening at home too. Kindergarten teacher here! I have seen kids like this. They learn this behavior at HOME! Not at school. Whatever he’s allowed to do at home, he will do at school!
