Tourist food is either really good or really bad, because on one side you have people who pour their heart and soul into their food because they like the idea of appealing and seeing foreigners enjoy their making, or it’s people who want to utilise the popularity to create “all style no substance” food and gain money. It’s like a 40/60 split in my experience

I don’t really like bulldog that much, it’s a little too funky for me. I like their mixes and I like their spice level. I just think whatever they’re using to make the dried tonkatsu; I know they’re trying to reproduce the pork funkiness of paitan broth, but it’s just too funky for me. Maybe I haven’t found the right Buldak flavor.
