@meghannmcuniff: The jury in Lindsay Clancy's trial returned to the jury room about 9:15 a.m. EST today to continue deliberating. The nine women and three men deliberated about 3 1/2 hours on Thursday (August 27, day 22) after instruction and closing arguments. Judge William Sullivan spoke to them in court before they went to the jury room. He got "no" answers to two questions he asks regularly: "First question: Has any member of the jury read, seen, heard, or overheard anything from any source about any aspect of this case that would affect your ability to be a fair and impartial juror?" "Last question: Is there any other serious matter of concern bearing on your service as a juror in this case that anybody needs to bring to my attention?" Clancy, who recently turned 36, was on maternity leave from her job as a labor and delivery nurse when she strangled 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month old Callan. She is charged with three counts of murder. Jurors can consider manslaughter as a lesser included offense to murder. Clancy's case involves serious mental health issues and could distress people.
