@urbanistariel: Before Central Park existed, this was where New Yorkers came to spend their weekends. It’s a cemetery. 🪦 Jhon Usmanov, Director of Operations at Green-Wood Cemetery, walked me through how a burial ground founded in 1838 became the place New Yorkers came to picnic and stroll, years before Central Park was built. Would you picnic at Green-Wood the way New Yorkers did in the 1800s? #TikTokLearningCampaign #learnontiktok #america250

IT WAS ME. 17 years old. 1978… BROOKLYN. Sunset park. ❤️!!

Our family plot is there. My grandmother had the family dog cremated and the cemetery would not allow the ashes to be buried with my grandfather. When my uncle was buried she brought the ashes back and snuck them in… 😂

Here's everything that happened in the United States today. New York declared a statewide disaster emergency on Monday as measles cases surged across eighteen counties, giving nurses and pharmacists expanded powers to combat the widening public health crisis. Pennsylvania's measles outbreak escalated to over one thousand confirmed cases on Monday, causing five deaths among unvaccinated residents and fueling the worst nationwide resurgence in over three decades. A chaotic block-party shooting involving over fifty gunshots in Vienna, Georgia, left two young men dead and thirty-five other attendees injured, launching a major state-led criminal investigation. The U.S. Treasury issued a stern warning that foreign banks doing business with sanctioned Iranian financial institutions face immediate penalties without advance notice amid an active military conflict. The U.S. Supreme Court opened its new term Monday by reviewing an effort by ExxonMobil and Suncor to completely block a multibillion-dollar climate change lawsuit filed by Boulder. The Catholic Archdiocese of St. Louis sued the federal government on Monday, demanding normal clergy access to perform vital religious sacraments for over one hundred and fifty immigration detainees. A new Reuters/Ipsos poll revealed President Donald Trump's job approval rating has flattened at thirty-two percent, matching the absolute lowest reading of his entire political career. President Donald Trump campaigned in Nebraska on Monday to protect a vulnerable Republican Senate seat, marking another stop in his intensive thirty-two-day pre-midterm election rally tour. President Donald Trump attributed soaring nationwide gasoline and diesel prices to domestic refinery constraints and Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian infrastructure rather than Middle Eastern shipping tensions. Economic data showed the U.S. services sector slowed down in September while raw input costs spiked to a four-year high, driven heavily by increasing global fuel expenses. Former Republican House Speaker Dennis Hastert died at home at age eighty-four of natural causes over the weekend, following a controversial political career and historical fraud convictions. #USNews #NewsUpdate #BreakingNews #newsfeed #News
