🌾❤️ THANK YOU TO THE COMMUNITY THAT SHOWED UP FOR OUR FARMWORKERS. This summer, farmworkers have continued working through intense heat, long days, and smoky skies caused by wildfires across our region. While many of us sought relief from the heat and poor air quality, farmworkers continued doing the essential work that keeps food on our tables. For Farmworker Appreciation Day, we visited Garcia Farms in Weiser, where we connected with 27 farmworkers, and Grupo Unidos in Payette, where we reached 25 farmworkers. We brought more than appreciation. We brought care, comfort, and protection. ❤️ ☕ Café Rivera donated hot coffee and 17 mini cold brews. 🥐 Delicia’s Cakes y Repostería donated delicious pan dulce. 💧 Sue & Gregg, local community members, donated $120 for electrolytes, bandanas, sunscreen and bug spray. 🧢 Craig Swapp & Associates donated 24 bandanas and 8 hats. 😷 Elva donated gloves, neck gaiters and N95 masks to help protect farmworkers from smoky air. 💦 Esmeralda & Elva donated 2 cases of water. 👕 Together, we were also able to distribute 40 long-sleeve shirts and 32 short-sleeve shirts. To every sponsor, donor, business, and community member who contributed: THANK YOU. 🙏❤️ Your generosity wasn't just a donation. It became a cold drink on a hot day. It became protection from smoke and dust. It became shade, comfort, nourishment, and care. And most importantly, it became a message: “We see you. We appreciate you. You are not forgotten.” To Idaho's farmworkers, thank you for the work you do every day. 🌾 And to the incredible supporters who helped us show up for them: this is what community looks like. ❤️ 🌾 Honor the hands that feed Idaho.@Café Rivera @Delicias Cakes @Craig Swapp & Associates @Garcia Farms Produce Inc.
