Creusée dans la roche, bourrée de charme, vue mer et dans le village principal de Mandraki. 87 € la nuit 📍Pour dîner : Oxos Café, une taverne familiale tout au bout du village, à flan de roche et face à la mer. La plus belle terrasse de l’île où les clients improvisent des chants grecs sous les tamaris. Cuisine bon marché et délicieuse ! Leurs croquettes de pois chiche 💙 📍A voir : le volcan Stefanos, le seul dans lequel on peut se balader… au cœur du cratère pour observer les cheminées fumantes. 📍A faire : prendre un scooter une journée seulement pour aller se balader dans les villages perchés de . Et pour aller jusqu’à la plage de Lyes, et déjeuner à la taverne 100 % locale avec la meilleure bande-son, Oasis. 📍Ma plage préférée accessible à pieds depuis le village de Mandraki : Paralia Chochlaki, aux pieds des falaises et meilleur spot pour le sunset. Pourquoi cette île est une bonne option en plein été ? Parce qu’elle se vide quand les touristes ´à la journée’ repartent sur l’île de Kos. On profite alors des petites ruelles de Mandraki et des délicieuses tavernes. L’impression d’être hors saison. Autre avantage : c’est l’île idéale pour les budgets serrés : petits prix, scooter pas indispensable (bus pour monter au cratère) car tout se fait à pieds. ——- Volcanic and spectacular, with its crater and black-sand beaches, it has retained its authentic character. Their chickpea croquettes 💙 📍Must-see: Stefanos volcano, the only one you can walk right into… right into the heart of the crater to watch the smoking vents. 📍Things to do: hire a scooter for just one day to explore the hilltop villages of Nikia and Emborio. And to head down to Lyes beach, and have lunch at the 100 per cent local taverna with the best soundtrack: Oasis. 📍My favourite beach, accessible on foot from the village of Mandraki: Paralia Chochlaki, at the foot of the cliffs and the best spot for the sunset. Why is this island a good option in the height of summer? Because it empties out once the ‘day-trippers’ head back to the island of Kos. You can then enjoy Mandraki’s narrow streets and delicious tavernas. It feels like the off-season.
