When we compare narnia and lotr in their Christian themes we have to look at the characters. Narnia was a direct “reimagining of Christianity” in the way that they take very famous stories of the Bible and reimagine them in the characters and plot of the books/movies a good example is Aslan being a direct representation of Jesus and him sacrificing himself instead of Edmund and forgiving him is a great example of the story of Jesus dying on the cross. But in lotr many of the characters are inspired by biblical people Sauron is most obviously inspired by Lucifer while the orcs (1st age orcs) arguably are inspired by the fallen angels Lucifer took with him when he was casted out of heaven. We also have to remember lotr also has representations of old English and Norse mythology (Norse more for the fantasy races) themes in it as well

It's not a Christian story per se, but it is full of Christian morality and core beliefs. Tolkien makes sure to make the line between good and evil as clear as possible and the message that good will always beat and overcome evil is present in every single one of his stories including the Silmarillion and the Hobbit as well

I think it is attached to it's identity. Remember, middle earth is just... afro-eurasia. Weirdly shaped but it's supposed to be our world. Arda IS Earth. Which is why Tolkien included multiple prophecies about Eru coming down and incarnating as a man. Eru is just God. The actual Christian God who incarnated as Jesus Christ later in the history of Arda

does anyone think frodo is Jesus? i think if tolkien subconsciously put the role of Jesus onto any particular character it would be Sam, but still not a perfect comparison by any means

LOTR is Christian but it’s more baked in English culture. A lot of the settings, aesthetics, people etc are based off Anglo-Saxon culture and the the setting itself is purely English

This is a big reason why I so strongly disagree with “separate the art from the artist.” Art is always as a reflection of the artist regardless of it is intended to be one or not

I might be wrong but doesn’t one of the stories in the silmarilian (can’t spell) literally mention the prophesy of Christ? I’m not a Christian I don’t have a stake in that being true I just remember it from somewhere.

It is Catholic, not Christian. Catholicism, apart from greater Christianity, is a culture based on pagan superstitions. Catholics often don't pray directly to God or Jesus, but to Mary, Saints, &/or angels. No one in ME really prays to Eru, but they pray to Varda, Manwe, & Ulmo (angels) or Earendil & Elendil (saints). Catholics carry sacred items (crosses, rosaries, scapulars), as do ME characters (rings, jewels, etc). The moral themes aren't necessarily Christian, but common in stories older than Christianity.
