We not only have many different types of mantı in Turkey, but also many different ways of cooking and serving it. With this video, I am showing one of the most well known and basic versions of it, but I’ll show some more later on! Preparing mantı at home by yourself is a huge task on its own. Making the thin dough and meat filling, making sure the dumplings are this tiny takes a huge amount of time and effort for those who are not experienced enough. I myself love the process, but cannot find enough time to do so, so I usually buy a package of frozen mantı or from a Turkish lady who makes and sells herself. Let me know if you wanna see the making of it! Cooking and serving is quite simple: Just mix garlic to plain yoghurt and set aside. Boil some water and add a bit of salt, then add mantı and make sure it’s cooked through. Then melt butter and olive oil with chili powder and mint. Serve mantı with garlic yoghurt and butter sauce, and add more dried mint and sumac to taste, enjoy!
