I'm such a purist, especially when it comes to fruit. all I could think about was if those figs are as delicious as they look, I wouldn't want to do a thing to them. my cousin recently gave me two pecks of beautiful small pears. they were not yet ripe which is perfect because I ate the two or three ripest everyday until they were gone. I kept saying I'm going to make a tart or wrap them in some pastry but they were the most delicious pears I've ever tasted and to me nothing can compete with that.
