@vsrsus: Jamie Vardy is set to broadcast Friday night Bundesliga matches directly to his podcast’s YouTube channel. The former Leicester City and England striker’s ‘Jamie Vardy’s Having a Party’ podcast has won the rights to screen seven matches throughout the season to audiences across UK and Ireland, including the opening fixture between Bayern Munich and Stuttgart. The move comes as part of the Bundesliga’s continued efforts to tap into UK and Irish audiences. Last season, the German top flight had a similar deal with That’s Football, previously owned by Mark Goldbridge, which has also been renewed for another season. For Jamie, the move represents another chapter in his growing media empire. Earlier this year, the striker’s highly anticipated documentary, ‘Untold UK: Jamie Vardy’ dropped on Netflix to high acclaim. This deal shows just how much the the way we watch football is changing. Former players no longer need to wait for the traditional broadcasters to platform them. They can own the channel, build the audience and control the conversation themselves.
