@lunabee27: Episode 8- 1950s Cookbook Series ⏲️📖 Pinwheel Cookies 🍪 ½ cup butter, ½ cup sugar, 1 egg yolk, 3 tablespoons milk, 1½ cups flour, 1½ teaspoons baking powder, ¼ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 square (1 ounce) chocolate, melted. Cream butter, add sugar gradually, add egg yolk and beat the mixture well. Add milk, then flour which has been sifted with the baking powder and salt. Add vanilla. Divide the dough into half. To one half of this mixture add melted chocolate. Roll the white dough into a thin sheet. Roll the chocolate into a sheet of the same size. Place white dough over the chocolate and press together. Roll up as for jelly roll into a tight roll about 2 inches in diameter. Set in ice box for several hours to become firm.
