"74% skip at 0:01, pay $17.99 to boost your views!" thank you tiktok. | SONG: American Girl - Tiffany Day | TAGS: #megumi #megumifushiguro #edit #megumifushiguroedit#jujutsukaisen #jjk #jjkedit #sukuna #sukunaryomen#sukunaedit #jjkseason3 -LONG DESCRIPTION AND RANT- yes tiktok i steal animations and edit on capcut with phonk pleeeeeeease make me go viral now you filthy dirty thing you. anyways because apparently long descriptions can help with views, im gonna test that theory and just ramble for a bit. i started editing last year and honestly had no clue what i was doing. id always loved watching edits and was kinda obsessed with them, i just never thought id actually be able to make one myself. i always thought the people making them were on some other level. then one day i just started i guess. not long after, one of my edits blew up a little, about 100k views. it was around my birthday as well, so waking up to all those comments was insane. after that i kept posting pretty consistently and eventually had an edit hit a million views, then another one near that not long after. even the ones that hit 500k felt unreal. however the weird thing is, the better i got, the less rewarding it sometimes felt. im definitely not saying im the best editor. theres always someone better, and thats part of the fun. but as i learnt more complicated techniques and started spending way more time on details, i realised effort doesnt always line up with how a video performs. who would've guessed, right? well... actually not many people, sorta corny way to put it but its true. a lot of editors probably know exactly what i mean. you can spend hours making every transition smooth, adding tiny details nobody consciously notices, trying to make every frame feel just a little bit cleaner, then watch a stolen animation by someone clearly super talented, get used for what they are worth and slobbered with phonk music and insufferable shakes get 400 million views, it is what it is though. and honestly thats just how social media works. most people arent pausing to think about shape layers, masking, timing or all the tiny decisions behind an edit. they just wanna see a character they like with a song they already know or music genre they like. theres nothing wrong with that either, its just a different way of watching. i guess what im tryna say is the people who really notice those little details are usually the ones making edits themselves. they know what its like to spend hours glued to a chair, refusing to get up because "ill go after this part," until suddenly youve got pins and needles, your buh hurts, youve been holding in a pooh for 3 hours and youre one adjustment away from accidentally giving yourself constipation. so if youre someone who actually watched the edit and ended up reading all of this too, thanks. genuinely. most people dont realise that even if its one person that changes their way of thinking that can influence hundreds more. next time you watch an edit, take in the beauty of it, clip choice, everything. big ask from me but you can try. and if youre someone who skipped all the way down here cause you cant be bothered reading it, yeah i guess man you do you.
