Saw someone say it’s all about inclusion but like it’s not your actions that guides people to Allah at the end of the day just like with the prophet SAW. Not saying we shouldn’t be welcoming and warm but it’s going to an extent it’s not Islam. The point is that you need to see islam with your heart but they focus on how Islam looks to the eyes.

tbh quoting verses such as 3:19 or 3:85 would just be question begging since the contentious point between the sects would be “what is/constitutes Islām?”, whether it’s the Salafī, Ashʿarī, Shīʿī or any other understanding of Islām being mentioned in those verses is the contention and the thing in question… as for the condemnation of sects within the Qurʾān and arguments like “the Prophet ﷺ wasn’t Sunnī or Shīʿī”, the verses seem to be condemning dividing upon the truth (i.e invoking deviations, heresies and innovations into the religion) not merely “labelling yourself other than Muslim” since you could label yourself only as a Muslim and still divide from the truth or invoke those things and you would thus be a sectarian just without the self-prescribed label of anything other than Muslim

Sects are an inevitability with any large religous group. Also I think the Quran condemming the creation of sects doesn't mean much by itself. All it means is that it condemms "heresy" but what constitutes heresy ends up changing due to different interpretations which leads to sects claiming they have the proper understanding of the book. The Quran condemming the creation of sects simply means it claims to reveal the authentic message, and these sects claim to hold the true meaning of that so-called authentic message

I’ve always questioned why people try to make the entirety of Islam conform to all their desires. I’m definitely not a good Muslim, but I’ve never tried to alter the religion so I can feel better about it.

I was gonna comment one of the verse in the description, but sects are stupid. Logically speaking in the time of the Prophet, do you think Shias and Sunnis existed? Or was it just Islam, living by the book, the Quran that was revealed to them? Idk guys critical thinking skills go a long way.
