@drdavidabbasi: 🩻X-ray, CT, and MRI, they all "see inside the body," but they're not interchangeable, and knowing the difference actually matters🩺 X-rays use radiation to capture a quick 2D image, mainly showing dense structures like bone. They're fast, low-cost, and great for spotting fractures, but they can't show soft tissue detail. CT scans take X-ray technology further, combining multiple angles into detailed cross-sectional, almost 3D images. This gives a much clearer look at bone structure and can pick up on things a standard X-ray might miss, like subtle fractures or complex bone anatomy. MRI works completely differently. Instead of radiation, it uses powerful magnets and radio waves to generate incredibly detailed images, especially of soft tissue like muscles, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. This is why MRI is the go-to when we're evaluating things like a torn ACL, meniscus damage, or soft tissue injuries that bone imaging simply can't capture.
