After checking the board, we confirmed that the 19V rail was shorted to ground. But this time, we’re not using voltage injection or a thermal camera to locate the shorted component. Instead, we’re using a different approach — isolating the 19V pad jumper to separate the power rail and narrow down the faulty section of the circuit. This method allows us to locate the short without injecting voltage into the board. Different troubleshooting method, same objective — find the short, identify the faulty component, and repair the board properly. Always understand the circuit first.
