Ninh Binh Province is one of Vietnam’s most stunning destinations, known for its limestone mountains, rivers, rice fields, and peaceful countryside. For the best experience, I highly recommend staying in Tam Coc, which is centrally located and offers a great balance between nature and convenience. 🇻🇳 I personally stayed at ANNAMOI HOUSE & HOMESTAY, located on a quiet street just a 2-minute walk from the main road. The homestay also offered bike rentals for 40,000 VND per day (around €1.60), which is one of the best ways to explore the area ! 🚲 🌾 Boat rides are a must when visiting Ninh Binh. I did both Tam Coc and Trang An, and while both are beautiful, if you only have time for one, I highly recommend Trang An for its impressive scenery and cave systems. Trang An is UNESCO-listed, making it one of the most iconic and protected landscapes in Vietnam ! For viewpoints, Hang Mua is worth the climb, but I strongly suggest going at sunrise or early in the morning. Sunset can be extremely crowded and difficult to access, while mornings are calm and far more enjoyable. The viewpoint is located within a hotel, so you need to pay to acess it. After the climb, you can relax and grab something to eat or drink — for example, a salted coffee. ☕️ Tam Coc is also home to several peaceful temples and pagodas. Bich Dong Pagoda is one of the most beautiful, built directly into the limestone cliffs, and many smaller hidden temples can be found throughout the countryside — perfect for quiet cultural stops during a bike ride. 🏯 When it comes to food, Tam Coc has great options. I recommend Delices Garden, a family-run restaurant located on a small street parallel to the main road, offering excellent food at very affordable prices. Chookies is also a great stop for comfort food and a relaxed atmosphere. Finally, take your time.
