@hushperformance: They’re just bolts… right? I remember when I first started seeing Downstar hardware around 2012. At the time, I understood why some people questioned it. You could go to the hardware store and buy bolts. So why spend money on hardware made specifically to look good? But context changes how you see things. When I tear down one of these transmissions, clean the case, powder coat it, and start putting everything back together, suddenly the old hardware stands out. At that point, I don’t want to put 30-year-old bolts back into something I just spent all that time making look new. That’s where Downstar started making sense to me. The hardware became part of finishing the work, not just holding it together. I’ve been using Frank’s hardware since around 2012, and some of those original pieces have been on display engines and transmissions for years. Sometimes the value of a part doesn’t make sense until you understand the problem it was made to solve.@Downstar Inc.
