Correct me if I’m wrong o, this slash and spread method can’t work on a funnel sleeve without having to join the sleeve on both side( the armpit line and the shoulder line)… the best way to go about it is to spread on one side(the armpit line) and the other side(the shoulder line) will be straight.

Take it from someone that do both methods, I prefer the joining on the wrist rather than both sides plus it’s neater and if you want to cut on fold on the grain line, the funnel would most likely be one sided and that is another design on its own.
