Like everywhere, our grocery prices have been higher since covid, and our gas prices are up thanks to Trump’s war on Iran, but other than that, life is good. My husband and I are both retired professionals, and we either dine out or do takeout most nights. We live a very comfortable lifestyle. We’re aware we’re luckier than most, however. …..As for Dr. Carney, neither my husband or I vote liberal ordinarily. He’s a conservative and I vote NDP. Because Pierre Poilièvre was running for PM, we met in the middle and both voted for Dr. Carney as we view PP as a Trump-wannabe. He would have sold us to the US lock, stock, and barrel. Now we are huge Carney fans and will vote for him as long as he has Canada’s interests at heart and he still wants to be PM.

I don’t think what Carney is doing has had enough time to really filter down to everyday Canadians yet. Everything is still expensive, but economic changes aren’t immediate. I’m hopeful that if the economy continues to strengthen, affordability will eventually start improving too.
