I love the idea of having sister exchange students. It’s also so interesting to see the experience of two students who speak the same language as host family from day one. It took me 6 months to learn Japanese and be able to start “talking” with my host mom like this 🥹🤍

genuine question, now that I've heard Kate. Has there ever been an exchange student that asked you if it was alright for them to call you mom? Or has one just started calling you mom? I mean, I can imagine it might be none as I've heard even foster kids tend to call their guardians by their names for a LONG time. But since Kate called you that, probably in a playful kind of way (not intentional, just happened) I thought I'd ask 😊 cause that'd actually be interesting!

HA! My sisters MARRIED name is Baker. ❤️So, my last name is Poor. My MIL’s maiden name was Deth. So, she always said when she got married it was a step up, going from Deth (dead) to Poor (no money)….lol
