Don’t misunderstand me, but are you sure this isn’t just cooked? 😭 Like, do people actually live like this? Like, genuinely live like this? Because I honestly can’t relate. I’m seeing some people in the comments saying they can relate, but I’m sitting here like… I genuinely don’t understand. And it’s actually so funny because back then, I used to feel bad and think my family was very poor because We didn’t travel abroad for vacations like some of my friends’ families did. They’d come back home and be like, “Oh, we went to England for Christmas,” or “We went to the U.S. for Easter.” Meanwhile, I was upset that my own holiday was just going to my auntie’s house in Lagos or my uncle’s in Abuja, and I’d end up doing absolutely nothing than wash plates and watch movies But honestly, seeing this now, I think I’ll just thank God for life and appreciate the background I came from. Because looking back, maybe I really didn’t have it as bad as I thought I did. 😂

I grew up like this, everyone knows everyone’s story, when the fine aunty that use to give us 20 naira after helping her fetch water and her husbands quarrel late in the night when he come home drunk, everyone knows who’s kids goes to the finest school.
