it’s so strange, isn’t it? I’ve had this happened to me once raining so hard at the front of the house no rain at all at the back of the house very strange.

I think it can best be described as, you have a huge house. The backyard is in one climate zone, and the front yard is a completely different zone.😂

It’s likely due to the precipitation gradient within the rain shower. Rainfall intensity isn’t uniform across a storm system because different areas of the cloud have varying concentrations of water droplets , along with different rates of upward and downward air motion. Wind can also advect the precipitation, causing the heavier rain core to pass over the front of the house while the back is only experiencing the lighter outer portion of the shower. So even though both areas are technically receiving precipitation, the rainfall rate can be significantly different over a relatively short distance.
