@thejournal_ie: After glorious sunshine this afternoon – luckily for those who didn't brave putting up a tent in last night's rain – the heavens have opened in Stradbally just as the main festivities are due to begin. The paths in the main campsite are muddy, but festivalgoers have come well prepared with wellies and rain jackets. Swedish star Zara Larsson is due to take to the main stage at 7:30pm and is a must-see for many punters, so fingers crossed she brings the sun out with her.

I used to go when it was 20,000 people... Followed it up to 40,000 and it had lost its magic at that stage. 80,000 people and the best acts they can sign are Lewis Capaldi, gorrilaz, Fontaine dc.... In one evening at oxygen many moons ago. I saw snoop dog, greenday, James Brown, rodrigo y Gabriela and the prodigy. Electric picnic used to be for the alternative, now its just mainstream, pleasing the masses.
