@yaypugs: There are fragrances you wear because they smell good, and then there are fragrances that seem to create a place in your head. Pomegranoudh by Fugazzi is very much the latter for me. On paper, it is a fairly simple idea. Tart pomegranate, bergamot and red fruits up front, followed by oud and patchouli, then vanilla, dry amber and musk underneath. But what it smells like and what it feels like are two different things. This feels like late summer slowly surrendering to fall. Warm air after sunset. Dark red fruit on a heavy wooden table. Old rooms with low lamps, polished wood and things collected over a lifetime. There is something rich and slightly mysterious about it, but also strangely comforting. It makes me think of places I have been, places I only half remember, and places that probably never existed at all. The pomegranate gives it life, but the oud gives it memory. As it settles into the skin, the sweetness becomes warmer and darker, almost like the fragrance itself is aging over the course of the day. Some fragrances smell like an occasion. Pomegranoudh smells like remembering one.
