This made me think of something. There are spells like Melf's minute meteors, Tasha's hideous laughter, Maximilian's earthen grasp, and Mordenkainen's faithful hound. I think in a long campaign, it would be a fun idea for a wizard player to create a new spell named after them.

ok but... most people don't get what make the laughter "hideous" it's not because it's a stupid laugh... it's because there is nothing funny. you are here battling for your life when suddenly, you feel something in your diaphragm, you start laughing there is nothing to laugh about you're still very worried about the other guy stabbing you dead, but you can ot stop. your body is no longer yours you want to stop you want to fight but your body just laughes. for everyone around you seem to be having fun despite everything. but those i. the know can see that while your mouth laughs your eyes are alight with horror, all because a witch decided to show you in the most ridiculous way possible that you're a mere puppet dancing on her strings.
