You MUST try these Coraline button cookies! ✨Recipe: Ingredients: • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened • 1 cup sugar • 1 large egg, room temperature • 2 tsp vanilla extract • ½ tsp baking powder • ¼ tsp salt • Yellow frosting (for filling) Directions: 1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until smooth. 2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture until a dough forms. If the dough feels too sticky, add a little extra flour. 3. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thick. 4. Cut out circles using a 1 ½-inch cookie cutter. For the button detail, lightly press the back of a 1 ¼-inch cutter into the center of each cookie, without cutting all the way through. 5. Use a chopstick to poke four small button “holes” in the center of each cookie. 6. Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and chill in the fridge for 1–2 hours. 7. Bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are just set. Let cool completely. 8. Spread yellow frosting on the bottom of one cookie, then sandwich with another to make your creepy Coraline buttons. 9. Enjoy these spooky treats the next time you visit your Other Mother! 🖤
