@rickythesteadyinvestor: Your 401k taxes you on the way out. Your Roth taxed you on the way in. Your HSA does neither — and most people use it as a debit card for copays. Five steps in the video. Step 3 sounds wrong until you hear step 5. Educational only. Not advice. #creatorsearchinsights #financialintelligence #hsa #401k #PersonalFinance
I already have a 401k w my employer, roth ira and a brokerage account, do I really need an HSA?

You forgot to add that at 65 you can withdraw for ANY reason and not pay penalties.

But you only get to have an HSA if you have a HDHP, right?

Can't contribute to an HSA unless you have a high deductible medical plan.

so don't give misleading advice from the jump. 401(k) accounts almost always allow roth contribution.

if anyone ever gives you "one size fits all" advice, run. whether or not to open an HSA depends on a lot of factors, and you may not be the type of person that will benefit from having the high deductible health plan.

What if my job doesn’t have an HSA? Can I get the same tax benefits with a private account?

HSAs are always treated like they are great. Just hope that you don't have medical issues because that high deductible for your insurance can costs you thousands more.

We should be pushing Congress to not tax 401ks up to $500k. This would bring back the American middle class and take the pressure off companies and local governments to fund pensions

Roth doesn’t tax anything. Roth is built with post tax dollars and ALL earnings are tax free, as long as you don’t withdraw those earnings until 59-1/2. Withdrawals on your contribution are fine, and no additional tax or penalties will happen,
