Oooh semi-disagree. I think he should definitely pay the parents back (expecting the friends parents to cover him is wrong obviously) however I personally think it's INSANE behaviour to ask a friend to pay you back (and pocket the money) if your parents are paying for your card... like he should pay the parents back directly then, or you should send your parents the money you were sent. Because then otherwise, you went to dinner with a friend, and ended up personally better off financially because of it and profited off of your friend.
