a few weeks ago I was on the train and couldn’t shake a really sad unrelenting intrusive thought from my head. It was so overwhelming and all consuming it caused me to start crying on the train I was scrolling to try and distract myself, then came across a video using this song (in video ⬆️). It was a girl saying how it fits SO well with OCD and immediately I related then filmed/wrote this. I saved it in my drafts for a bit bc crying vids are odd sometimes for me to post - but I think it’s important for people to understand how intrusive OCD can really be The misconception makes it so difficult to be taken seriously and if you don’t have OCD or know someone close to you who’s struggles it can almost be impossible to truly grasp how terrible it can be I’m lucky to be at a point now where my OCD doesn’t affect me every day (sometimes I can go weeks/months without any massive symptoms). But it’s still there and when I’m sad or there’s change/stressful times, etc. it can flare up a bit. But I will say having those flare ups remind me how lucky I am that, that’s not my reality every second of the day any more. My worst OCD day now is a day I would have prayed for years ago. That still doesn’t mean it’s fun though. OCD can come in so many different forms and it looks different in everyone. But one thing that is the same across the board is that it’s NOT helpful. And anybody with real OCD would never say it was 🩷 Go to NOCD.com today to learn more 🫶🏻 #ocd #MentalHealth @NOCD
