Who am I to place my desires above the command of my Lord? Allah is the Creator, the Owner, and the One whose wisdom is perfect. Sometimes what we want is not what Allah has chosen for us, but true contentment is learning to trust His decree even when it goes against our wishes. Having desires is part of being human. The test is whether we choose Allah's guidance over our desires when they conflict. “It may be that you dislike something while it is good for you, and it may be that you like something while it is bad for you. Allah knows, and you do not know.” (Qur’an 2:216) May Allah make our hearts content with His decree and give us the strength to choose what pleases Him over what merely pleases us.
