6 Mistakes Men Make When Going Vegan 🌱💪 Going vegan doesn't automatically mean you're going to become healthier. And if you're a man trying to build muscle, stay lean, and perform at a high level, there are a few mistakes I see new vegans make all the time. 1️⃣ Not prioritizing protein You didn't eliminate protein when you eliminated meat—you changed where you're getting it from. Tofu. Tempeh. Seitan. Legumes. Soy foods. Plant-based protein powders. If building or maintaining muscle is the goal, protein still matters. 2️⃣ Ignoring Vitamin B12 This one isn't optional. B12 deficiency can eventually cause fatigue and neurological problems, so make sure you're getting a reliable source through fortified foods or supplementation. 3️⃣ Not paying attention to healthy fats Avocados, nuts, seeds, and nut butters are great—but don't forget your essential omega-3s. Foods like chia, flax and walnuts provide ALA, while an algae-based DHA/EPA supplement is another option. You don't specifically need to supplement omega-6 or omega-9. 4️⃣ Becoming a junk-food vegan Oreos might be vegan... That doesn't mean you should build your entire diet around them. 😂 There's nothing wrong with enjoying processed foods, but the foundation should still be nutrient-dense foods that help you hit your calories, protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. 5️⃣ Going cold turkey without a plan Some people can change overnight. Others do much better transitioning gradually. There's no prize for doing it faster. Learn your protein alternatives. Find restaurants. Build meals you actually enjoy. Make the transition sustainable. 6️⃣ Having ZERO recipes I made this mistake when I first went vegan. I wasn't making meals... I was grazing. And you definitely don't have to eat like a sad dog for the rest of your life. 😂 👇 Comment “MACRO” and I'll send you my free Macro Mastery Cookbook with high-protein plant-based recipes to make the transition easier. 🌱💪
