Poor man’s first class: book that hotel for an extra night (night before) so you can nap when you get there! Trust me that nap is worth $150

I take overnight flights. Land around 9:30-10am. By the time we get luggage and go through customs, we get to the hotel around 1-2pm. Sometimes they have early check-in. If not, they hold our luggage, we freshen up then hit the pavement lol

My BIGGEST international pro tip - if you can afford it, find a flight that lands between 3-6pm local time. Even with travel in most areas thats perfect time to be so exhausted you get to your lodgings, quick easy dinner, and then straight to bed at a normal night time of 9-10p to help avoid jetlag

Hot tip: if you book the hotel for the night before, be sure to add a note on the res saying you’re checking in early the next day so they don’t “no show” your res/give away your room

Happened to me in Miami at 930am...with my 3 year old son. We asked the hotel if they could store our luggage. She said, "Your room is ready, Sir." I almost cried. I was so thankful.

I got there in the morning. I went straight to the hotel, they told us we could leave our stuff and we could check in as soon as the room was ready. It was ready in about an hour. 😁 🙌

See I do this on purpose so I 0 chance of getting jet lag, 100% success rate so far every Europe trip for both my husband and I. We sleep / nap on the plane- mine is forced with melatonin- then when we land (never after 8am) we have a full day of adventures, site seeing, etc so by after dinner we have no option but to pass out with exhaustion and BAM on euro time with 0 jet lag.
