If you are able to remove the hinges, boiling them in a crockpot with only water works so well! I have a cheap crockpot from the thrift store just for that!

I don’t blame you for your hesitation to strip the cabinets. I feel like the internet makes you think paint stripping is easy but it can be so HARD and messy. Especially when you’re dealing with decades of bad paint jobs

The way you describe these cabinets is literally my entire house. I don’t know what these people were thinking when painting but the drips, layers, and texture are insane. I love my old house but I’d never be able to strip all the wood.

u should get an old crock pot and cook the paint off. that's what I did and it's so easy! just don't use the pot for cooking after
