@truechristianministry: Replying to @Abraham Owodunni If no law had been given in the garden when God told Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree, there would have been no moral boundary for them to violate. But God’s command drew that boundary. Obedience was good, and disobedience was evil. So the tree of the knowledge of good and evil represented more than a prohibition. It placed before humanity a divine standard by which their actions could be judged. God had spoken, and His word defined the difference between obedience and rebellion. And that standard still exists today: good and evil are not determined by us, but by what God has declared to be right and wrong. #christian #christiantiktok #christianitytiktok #christianity #truechristianministry

The Garden was a training ground. The tree wasn't a bad one. But it wasn't meant for them yet. They had everything they needed , their daily bread. Lacking nothing. the deception was to make them think God was holding out on them to spark curiosity and interest planting a seed of doubt. God's laws are for protection. A mature person would be able to discern what is good or evil. They were not mature enough to discern that the lies of the serpent were evil as the serpent spoke against God. They knew God. He was among them. He was teaching them whAt was good before teaching what's bad. Now we know what's bad and God teaches us what is good.

When someone asks, “Why did God have to put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden?” as if establishing that boundary was somehow unfair, consider what that argument would mean in any other context. Would it be unfair to tell your child, “Do not steal from your sibling”? Of course not. A child would not know that stealing is wrong unless a standard of right and wrong was established and taught to them. Establishing that standard doesn’t make you responsible for their decision to violate it. Likewise, mankind cannot know what is right and wrong unless a standard is established. The tree and God’s command concerning it established that standard for Adam and Eve. God told them what was permitted and what was forbidden. Good was obedience to God, and evil was rebellion against Him. God’s law isn’t given to us so that we will fail. It is given so that we can know what is right. The existence of a standard isn’t unfair. It is precisely what allows us to know the difference between good and evil.

Mind you, it’s His garden and He can plant whatever He wants in it. If I invite you in my house, that does NOT give you the right to eat the chocolate cake in my fridge.

Why did God put that tree in the garden? Paradise without a door is still a prison.

I'm not a non believer but I used to struggle (still kinda do if I'm honest), on why sin was created in the 1st place. God is the creator of all things, so that would include evil/sin right? I know God can do whatever He pleases bc we are clay but if I'm honest, it still kinda stings...

was it experiential knowledge that was the problem? Like....they knew it was evil to disobey, right?

Awesome video brother. One thing I've been pondering. I think that Adam and Eve already had the knowledge of evil. They did not gain the knowledge of evil in the moment they ate the fruit. Instead, they already knew what evil was, going against what God commands. We can see this from the hesitation Eve had to eat the fruit. Both Eve and Adam knew that eating the fruit was evil. If we look forward to Genesis 4:1 the word for "know" is the same word that we see in Genesis 3:22. One is 3rd person past tense verb and the other is a verbal noun. So both words mean to have an intimate knowledge. Adam and Eve already knew what evil was but now they have a deep intimate knowledge of it.

Please, have you ever spoken about 1John 1:8-9? I've always been taught that it means we should always pray for forgiveness of sins because we are sinners and always sin. But I've also, always, thought that I'm no longer a sinner since I have been born again, and 2Corinthians 5:21 is what I'm referring to in this case, well I'm sure there are other scriptures. Please help.

Adam and Eve knew there was knowledge that God kept from them. If the tree wasn’t there, God would have made a perfect world and people would be questioning His motives and what He’s hiding from us for all eternity. The fallen world is to teach us good and evil, so if we choose God we can be content living in full submission to His will for eternity.

The huge thing that I love about God is PERFECT AND JUST. That means there were serious consequences to disobeying. He loves us so much that he sent his only begotten Son. He could’ve easily just erased the chalkboard/ cursed ground but then He wouldn’t be just. We are not worthy.
