As a fibro warrior I struggle with pacing often. It seems it goes in cycles of how good I do with it.

The biggest lesson I've learned after my back surgery is to not borrow from tomorrow's energy for today's excitement. I've been having to practice restraint.

if you dont know about it, check out the spoon theory. its a really good analogy on how to remind yourself the expense of things while being chronically ill/disabled

I feel you. These past 3-4 months have been a TEST! I was working out so hard to build muscle and my dream physique. Then, my spicy side decided that my ED from early childhood needed to resurface. A month ago I was less weight than what I was in high school. All of my hard work at the gym and on the track was gone. I am still within a healthy weight for my height, but seeing all your progress slip and it being totally you related, messes with you. I feel it was a necessary struggle for my spiritual transformation. A lot of my struggles were perception/control and boy did I have to face that recently with the rapid weight loss. I am almost back to my weight before I started training at the beginning of this year. I now will be incorporating meditation and shadow work as my mental/emotional fitness days. That is the lesson it taught me. Both are just as important for self love. 💕💕💕

This is so accurate!! I’m 43 now and got diagnosed a year ago. I’ve been two years, multiple scans and blood work, finally found out I’m in perimenopause, severe burnout, and audhd. I’ve been working on myself and growing for the past two years now and finally I’m happy to report I finally cracked the code a little and found ways to live my life the way that works for me. It’s difficult to try and “reintroduce” yourself to the world when they were all so used to all the masking and people pleasing (things I no longer am even able to do now) I hit absolute rock bottom this time (I’ve hit rock bottom many times) and this time I had a partner that supports me and keeps me safe so I was able to go through and claw and scrape my way back up to the top again and let me tell you, nothing will ever put me back in that hole. And the only way I can do that now is to move the way that works for me and keeps me calm and comfortable. You said it, it’s like I’m constantly pulling on the leash and I get exhausted earlier than I used too but now I rest when I know I’m at my limit instead of pushing through. It’s been a long road but when we get there! Ah it actually is joy because now I know how to live my life that works for me and I’ll never allow anyone or anything to let me slide back down that hole. It keeps the fear away 🫶🏻 take care of yourself peeps!

I totally get you on this. My brain says go work out and do these exercises however my body goes if you do that you are not walking or going to work for a couple of days all because I found out that I have a bad spot in my spine and that I have to restrain myself from being able to do things that will agitate my spine. as for my energy it comes and goes and the majority of the time I just want to go live out in the middle of nowhere and shut the world out because I don't want to people

We are being led to honor the needs of the body, because what is coming requires full nervous system recalibration. I fully reaonate with all of this. Perimenopause was wrecking my world and I got on some things to help work through it. I have to restrain constantly and what rose the most was frustration, disappointment, and guilt. once I saw that there was things to release it made it a little easier. I am learning this turtle pace but my spirit is a fucking hare....lol 🔥 much love sister. You're moving mountains and burning bridges!

I am so happy for you. And it's good. You are understanding your limitations. So then you don't hit bottom again. It is so hard to climb out of that, but to sit on the edge and take note of all the things you have to do for yourself. Right now to still make yourself better. So happy for you

This is the hardest part of getting out of the goo for me and why I keep getting sucked back in. Radical acceptance. I’m not perfect, I have flaws and I can’t do it all anymore. Which means that I have to accept that it’s not going to get done in the timeframe that I want, the way that I want and sometimes I have to let it go.

Right there with you in all of those ways. It’s so nice to see your face again! Pace yourself and be kind to yourself. We are not superhuman and there’s no reason to try to be 🥰
