Islam does not make a menstruating woman “untouchable.” 🤍 The prohibition in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:222 concerns sexual intercourse during menstruation, not normal affection and physical closeness. The Prophet ﷺ continued to show affection to his wives while they were menstruating. ʿĀ’ishah رضي الله عنها narrated that the Prophet ﷺ would ask her to wear an izar and then show physical affection towards her while she was menstruating. 📖 Sahih al-Bukhari 302 So remember: 🩸 Menstruation ≠ wife becomes untouchable 🚫 Intercourse during menstruation = prohibited 🛁 After menstruation ends, ghusl is required before intercourse. Islam didn’t tell husbands to abandon their wives during menstruation. It placed a specific boundary while preserving love, affection and companionship.
