Had a 6 hour day sit, come 5 and a bit hours and my upper arm starting shaking. I felt absolutely fine, my artist immediately went "Nope, even if you feel ok, your body is done. We will do that time another day". A real artist wouldn't do this to you!

My ex had a bodysuit, including eyelids. Never sat for more than 2 hours. Got tattooed every 2 weeks. Let your body heal and your tattoo will thank you.

I feel like people are going to have some health issues from doing that… that’s trauma and it’s so much ink at once it most likely overwhelms their lymphatic system their liver kidneys etc 😳

these kinds of tattoo "sessions" give me the ick, and the "artists" doing it too. I've had tattoo flu after a big piece and that was 7 hours but with breaks for myself and the artist! Getting tattoos is like therapy for me, I enjoy the sensation of being tattooed. to be put under or numbed? nah, not for me!

That’s a pretty lazy generalisation. Bali has plenty of cheap tourist-trap places that rush people through, sure — but it’s also home to genuinely world-class, award-winning studios that compete on the international convention circuit and take real pride in their craft. Same as London, or anywhere else: you get bad artists and brilliant ones, and it comes down to doing your research, not the postcode. I went to Bali and got my father’s name tattooed — did my homework, picked a proper studio, and it’s held up beautifully. Painting an entire island’s artists with one brush because some tourists book the cheapest place they can find isn’t fair on the ones doing serious, lasting work out there.

There are people who go under general anesthesia to have large body pieces done. I think that is incredibly dangerous too.
