Key West Police body camera footage captured a wild incident on May 4, 2024, after police say 22-year-old Ethan Robert Layne took a tractor from the Key West Golf Club and drove it to the College of the Florida Keys. Investigators say the tractor was driven through the Lagoon Landings dormitory lobby, damaged property, flipped a truck in the parking lot, and struck a police cruiser before Layne was taken into custody. Layne was arrested at the scene and faced multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, grand theft of a vehicle, burglary, and criminal mischief.
